Wir sind eine Bar für die Bären-Community –
und gerade das bedeutet für uns, wir sind für alle und jeden offen.
Genau aus diesem Verständnis heraus hat sich die Bären-Szene in den 90er Jahren entwickelt – jeder wie er ist und sein will – ob mit, oder ohne Bart, Brille, Bauch …
Jeder Mensch, der sich mit uns, unserer Bar und unseren Gästen wohlfühlen kann, ist uns herzlich willkommen.
Wir denken nicht in Grenzen, sondern in Möglichkeiten.
Die Bar am Mühlenbach 53 hat eine lange Geschichte und diese reicht eigentlich fast 2000 Jahre zurück, denn in den Barraum integriert ist ein Teil der ehemaligen römischen Stadtmauer, die Köln umgab.
Und genau dieser architektonischen Besonderheit verdankte die erste schwule Bar an dieser Stelle ihren damaligen Namen – die Römerstuben. Viele andere sollten folgen.
In den 90er Jahren machte unser aller Freund Darko die Bar unter dem Namen Cox zu der Bären-Bar Deutschlands, gefolgt von Frank und Kai, die die Bar weiterführten.
Später dann übernahmen Luca und Frank mit dem Gentle Bears die lange Tradition, in Köln eine Bären-Bar zu führen.
Nun wollen wir mit dem THE 3B-The Bearded Bear Bar einen neuen Hot Spot für die Community etablieren und hoffen dabei auf Eure Unterstützung – denn jede Bar kann immer nur so gut sein, wie die Gäste, die sie mit Leben füllen.
Ob zur monatlichen Bären-Karaoke, dem Karneval, dem Kölner CSD, der Bear-Pride, oder an einem ganz normalen Tag – schaut einfach bei uns rein, genießt die nette Gesellschaft und einen guten Drink und fühlt Euch wohl.
Das Team hinter der Theke wird alles versuchen, um Euch vor der Theke einen schönen Abend zu bereiten.
Wir freuen uns auf Euch, auf eine gute gemeinsame Zeit, auf viel Spaß und hoffentlich auf ganz viele neue Freundschaften.

We are a bar for the Bear community –
and this means for us that we are open to everyone and anyone.
It is precisely from this understanding that the Bear scene developed in the 90s – everyone as they are and want to be – whether with or without a beard and a belly.
Everyone who can feel comfortable and identify with us, our bar, and our guests is warmly welcome. We don’t think in terms of boundaries, but in terms of possibilities.
The bar at Mühlenbach 53 has a long history, which actually goes back almost 2000 years, because integrated into the bar area is a part of the former Roman city wall that surrounded Cologne.
And it is precisely this architectural peculiarity that the first gay bar in this location owed its name at the time – the Römerstuben. Many others follows.
In the 90s, our friend Darko made the bar, under the name Cox, Germany’s Bear bar, followed by Frank and Kai, who continued to run the bar. Later, Luca and Frank took over the long tradition of running a Bear bar in Cologne with the Gentle Bears.
Now, with THE 3B – The Bearded Bear Bar, we aim to establish a new hot spot for the community and hope for your support – because any bar is only as good as the guests who bring it to life.
Whether it’s for the monthly Bear Karaoke, Carnival, Cologne Pride, Bear Pride, or just an ordinary day – stop by, enjoy great company and a good drink, and make yourself at home.
The team behind the bar will do everything to ensure you have a wonderful evening in front of the bar.
